This was hard to do. The 100 FR felt reasonably fast, though I think I could have pushed harder. Upon my dive, my goggles filled up, and I think I was distracted by this. My wife mentioned that I was slow off the blocks. May have cost me a second of meeting my 1:05 best time. More kicking needed here. The 100 BR felt reasonably fast, but I think here too I could have pushed harder. But it was just slightly better than my best time. The 100 BK was awful. Though it was a best time, I was terrible on the turns. The first turn was too far and I touched, doing an open turn. The second and third turns were then too short, whereby I barely touched the walls with my toes on the kickoff. I easily lost 10 seconds on my crappy turns. Must work to improve this! I also got water in the back of my throat and was trying to cough it out during the swim. This was a distraction. Not by best event. I would like to shoot for 1:25 on the next event if the turns are crisp. On the positive side, I think my strokes were quick and clean. The 50 FL was perhaps my best performance. It was right after the 100 BK, and I was nice and loose. My wife said I looked best in this event. It felt good throughout. Nice dive, nice streamlines, good arms and kicking. Now, what can I do to improve this?
